TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The long-awaited "Touch The Japan Festival" has returned to Taiwan as our borders finally reopened. The 3-day event held from Friday to Sunday (Oct. 21- 23) at Huashan 1914 Creative Park will feature many travel agencies, food carts, and business owners setting up shop to attract customers and promote tourism between Taiwan and Japan.

"I'm looking at trips to Hokkaido," one expectant traveler said at the event. "Now that it has reopened (borders), I wanted to look around and see if there are any promotions.”

Meanwhile, a small fashion show was also organized during the grand opening, showcasing Japan's traditional clothing, enveloping those present in the essence of Japan. In addition, Taiwan's Easycard Corporation announced a new collaboration with local Japanese authorities, so that Easycard users can travel around Okinawa, Japan at will.

This makes purchasing tickets and goods over there even more convenient for Taiwanese tourists. The 3-day festival also features small shops selling traditional Japanese snacks, sandals, and other souvenir items to remind locals of all the fun Japan has to offer.
