TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) has introduced a new mobile ticketing service, allowing passengers to purchase free seating tickets (non-reserved seats) through the "T-EX Mobile Ticketing" app. Starting today, you can conveniently buy your tickets via the app and scan the QR code to access the platforms directly.

With this new service, you are no longer limited to purchasing tickets only at ticket counters or automated ticket machines at the THSR stations. You can now make your purchases in the station lobbies using your smartphones. To use the "T-EX Mobile Ticketing" app, you must update to version 6.60 or above and have your Bluetooth function enabled.

Once inside the station, you can open the app and select the "Today's Free Seating" section. The system will automatically set the current station as the departure station. You can immediately pay for a free seating seat after choosing the desired destination station and ticket type. The ticket can then be accessed through the QR code on their mobile phones for boarding.

However, it's important to note that this service only allows for the purchase of one single journey, free seating ticket per transaction. For round-trip or multiple tickets for group travel, you should use the automated ticket machines or ticket counters within the stations.

THSR reminds passengers that the "T-EX Mobile Ticketing" app is available for ticket purchases within the station's operating hours until 5 minutes before the train departs (specific cutoff times may vary depending on the destination).

This new mobile ticketing service aims to enhance convenience and efficiency for passengers traveling on the Taiwan High Speed Rail network, providing them a more streamlined and accessible ticketing experience.
