TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Foxconn founder Terry Gou announced on Thursday (July 27) new plans for a month-long peace tour across the U.S. to pray for Taiwanese peace, economic development, and a corruption-free government.

Speaking about this trip in Tucheng, he expressed hope to propel Taiwan into a prosperous economic future and gain support for his 2024 presidential bid.

Gou highlighted the significance of Tucheng, the location of his business headquarters and the initial destination of his comprehensive world tour.

He expressed hopes that under the guardianship of the deity Guan Gong, a united Taiwan and the world would propel Taiwan into a prosperous economic future lasting at least 30 years. He stressed the need to allow him and Taiwan an opportunity.

Gou recollected his trip a decade ago when he took a Boeing 747 to China thrice, bringing back the deity Guan Sheng Di Jun from Shanxi to Taiwan.

Gou also noted that the Foxconn factories in 18 countries globally have dedicated altars to Guan Sheng Di Jun.

Following Gou's failed attempt to secure the Kuomintang (KMT) nomination to run for president, his activities have stirred considerable interest.

Late in March this year, Gou undertook a U.S. trip focused on technology and economy explorations, meeting with major figures in Washington D.C., Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles and participating in deep discussions.

Upon returning to Taiwan, Gou held a press conference the following day, announcing his participation in the 2024 presidential race and intent to seek the KMT's nomination again.
