HONG KONG (TVBS News) — The memorial service of pop diva Coco Lee unfolded on Monday (July 31) at the Hong Kong Funeral Home. Many celebrities and thousands of fans went to Hong Kong to bid the final farewell to their loved ones and beloved pop diva.
Being away from the limelight for over a year, well-known Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao also showed up at Coco's memorial service, delivering an emotional and heart-wrenching eulogy to her beloved friend.
Elva recounted that when she was feeling down in the depths many years ago, her childhood idol Coco gave her courage and inspired her to perform again. "Coco once told me, 'Just consider me your older sister.' We shared our deepest emotions," Elva choked back tears and was almost unable to continue during her speech.
More than 40 celebrities, including Jolin Tsai, JJ Lin, Yoga Lin, and Ang Lee, also paid their tributes to Coco in a video montage played at the beginning of the live stream. All of them remembered Coco as kind, humble, and with a "warm smile."
