The CDC stated that the deceased were men aged between 60 and 80, all with chronic illnesses. They passed away between 0-7 days after their conditions worsened.

According to CDC statistics, there were 1,311 new local dengue fever cases reported from Aug. 29 to Sept. 4, with 1,205 cases in Tainan, 48 cases in Kaohsiung, Yunlin's 33 cases, followed by 8 cases in Taoyuan, 5 cases in Taipei and New Taipei respectively. The rest were recorded from Hsinchu, Changhua, Chiayi, and Nantou.

CDC deputy director-general Philip Lo inspected prevention efforts against dengue fever in Tainan's Annan District and Daliao District in Kaohsiung later that day. He also attended a meeting of the Kaohsiung City Government's Dengue Fever Task Force.

Meanwhile, the dengue cluster in Taipei's Zhongshan District is still under investigation, with two cases reported thus far. The source of infection is yet to be identified.
