TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan ranks sixth globally in the list of countries where citizens need to spend the most negligible proportion of their annual income to own a 128GB iPhone 15, spending just 2.70% of their yearly earnings, according to a study by Global Index.

The survey evaluated the percentage of annual income needed to purchase the latest iPhone in various countries. The top three nations were Luxembourg and Switzerland, both spending 1.55%, followed by the United States at 1.69%. All three countries require less than 2% of their annual pay to acquire the newly released device.

The iPhone 15 series, which started sales on Sept. 22, increased in price yet again but still managed to sell out immediately. Among other Asian nations, South Korea ranked 14th (3.95%), while China (11%), Malaysia (13%), and Thailand (17%) ranked between 18th and 20th positions.

Burma (89%) was ranked last in this survey, with individuals needing the highest percentage of annual income to buy an iPhone 15. Other countries at the bottom of the scale were Pakistan (66%), Nigeria (65%), Kenya (61%), and Bangladesh (55%).
