TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan People's Party (TPP) presidential candidate Ko Wen-je condemned the actions of "Lin bay Hao You" on Tuesday (Oct. 3), stressing the need to place blame on the fraudsters, not their victims.

The comment was intended for former legislator Huang Kuo-chang who offered an apology earlier that day for hosting a live broadcast with Lin Yu-hung. Huang eventually took down the video from YouTube.

Lin, the influencer behind the "Lin bay Hao You" Facebook page, claimed to have received threats before it was revealed that he was staging it along with Hsu Che-pin, a Kuomintang (KMT) worker.

Ko made the comment before sharing a lunch with the Taiwanese-American Mayor of Fremont, Lily Mei, on the same day, Pacific Standard Time in California. He shared his views on the recent scandal that has rocked the Taiwanese public.

Responding to questions about the scandal, Ko said the society is rife with disinformation, but it is resilient and should aim to reduce the impact of such incidents.

Ko voiced support for Huang, asserting that he was, in fact, a victim in the "Lin bay Hao You" controversy rather than the creator, reiterating the need to place blame on the fraudsters, not their victims.
