TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A recent poll conducted by the TVBS Poll Center revealed that almost 60% of Taiwanese people find it unlikely for Kuomintang's (KMT) presidential candidate, Hou Yu-ih, to collaborate with Taiwan People's Party (TPP) candidate Ko Wen-je.

The poll concluded that 58% of respondents were skeptical about the success of a collaboration between KMT and TPP. Only 21% of the participants believed a cooperative effort was possible, while the remaining 21% were undecided.

The poll also disclosed the support rate for different presidential candidates. According to the survey, the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) presidential hopeful Lai Ching-te is leading with 34%, followed by Ko Wen-je with 29% and Hou Yu-ih with 26%.

However, in case Terry Gou confirms his independent candidacy, Lai's support rate marginally drops to 33%, while the support for Ko slightly rises to 24%, Hou to 22%, and Gou enters with 8%.

The poll was conducted between Oct. 18 and 24, surveying 1,447 Taiwanese aged 20 and above.
