TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 21st Taiwan LGBT+ Pride will unfold in front of Taipei City Hall on Saturday (Oct. 28). The theme for this year's event is "Stand with Diversity," which aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by various communities and promote diversity.

Despite a busy schedule, the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) presidential candidate, Lai Ching-te, has confirmed his attendance at the parade.

People First Party's (PFP) presidential candidate, Ko Wen-je, will not be able to attend due to prior engagements scheduled in the south on Saturday. However, PFP legislators will be present at the event.

The Kuomintang (KMT) will send members from their youth group to participate in the parade. Although Hou Yu-yih will not attend, his office has expressed his commitment to gender equality and inclusivity.

Meanwhile, Terry Gou's office has announced that Gou and his running mate, Lai Pei-hsia, will not be able to attend due to other engagements. However, they maintain their stance in support of gender-friendly policies.

Other smaller parties registered to participate include the New Power Party, Taiwan Solidarity Union, Green Party, and Taiwan Radical Wings. The "Aunties' Union," which is an alliance advocating for the participation of ordinary folks in politics, will join the green group.
