TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang's (KMT) presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih announced on Friday that he has been in discussions with independant candidate Terry Gou to unify opposition parties and facilitate a political turnover.

This revelation follows the six-point consensus reached between the KMT and the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) on Wednesday, overseen by former President Ma Ying-jeou.

Addressing the recent emotional response of TPP presidential candidate Ko Wen-je to the agreement, Hou confirmed that a substantial consensus has been reached under Ma's guidance and will be executed as planned.

Hou called for support in their campaign to highlight the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) inefficiencies. Regarding the upcoming poll results, he stressed that the final evaluation of any comparisons would be conducted by a team of three polling experts.

The collaborative efforts of the opposition parties to challenge the DPP have become a focal point in Taiwan's political landscape, with many awaiting the impending poll results.
