TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's People Party (TPP) candidate, Cynthia Wu, expressed satisfaction on Tuesday (Jan. 2) with her performance in Taiwan's 2024 vice presidential debate a day earlier, stressing that she addressed all the topics raised during the heated discussions.

Speaking at a press conference, however, Wu accused both candidates of disregarding her, citing Jaw's exclusion of her in two of his queries. She expressed her sense of being overlooked and urged her opponents not to marginalize her in future exchanges.

In the debate, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Hsiao Bi-khim and Kuomintang (KMT) candidate Jaw Shaw-kong engaged in a fierce verbal exchange.

Despite receiving a 7 percent rating for her performance during the debate, Wu dismissed any concerns, maintaining that she had responded adequately to questions from other candidates.

Wu criticized her fellow candidates for offering unsatisfactory responses to her repeated queries about pension issues, alleging that they had focused only on childcare and elderly care topics.

Emphasizing the TPP's commitment to realistic and practical implementation of national policies, Wu encouraged the public to contemplate and impartially assess the party's dedication to achievable initiatives.
