TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan braced for soaring temperatures on Wednesday (Feb. 21), with highs of 28 to 30 degrees Celsius in the north and east regions. Central and southern parts of the country were expected to see temperatures of 32 to 35 degrees.

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) noted that local winds were blowing from the southeast, resulting in low moisture levels across most of the island.

The CWA forecasted that eastern Taiwan and the Hengchun Peninsula are likely to experience scattered and brief showers.

In contrast to the higher daytime temperatures, the night was expected to feel cooler, with lows of 18 to 21 degrees. Residents were advised to adjust clothing accordingly, given the significant variation in day-and-night temperatures.

Signaling weather changes for the next day, the CWA predicted that while weather during the morning hours would remain stable and warm, conditions were expected to shift in the afternoon due to a front passing through. This shift would continue to affect the weather into Friday due to the influence of a northeastern monsoon.

Looking ahead, the north and east are set to experience overcast conditions with occasional showers, marking a clear drop in temperatures.
