TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of National Defense (MND) announced on Thursday (Feb. 22), that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has declared a rocket launch activity expected to take place on Friday at the Wenchang International Aerospace City.

The planned flight direction is expected to pass the West Pacific, and current forecasts do not indicate it will pass through Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), the MND said.

Furthermore, on Thursday, Taiwan's military detected five instances of CCP aircraft crossing the median line of the Strait, entering Taiwan's northern, southwestern, and eastern airspaces.

According to the defense ministry, from the morning of the previous day until 6 a.m. Thursday, a total of 11 CCP aircraft were detected (with five instances crossing the median line into Taiwan's northern, southwestern and eastern airspaces), as well as six instances of CCP naval vessels operating in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait.

In response to these situations, the military is using mission aircraft, ships, and ground-based missile systems for strict monitoring and appropriate response.

As the situation remains tense, officials emphasize that its armed forces stay alert and maintain a solid defense posture to ensure the security of Taiwan.
