DUBAI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese driver Jimmy Chou, a 17-year-old high school student, won the Gulf Radical Cup, a car endurance race in Dubai last Friday (Feb. 16).
With a racetrack distance of 5.390 kilometers, Chou secured a steady lead with precision timing both in and out of the pit stop, ultimately winning by a margin of over nine seconds from his closest competitor.
Chou's interest in racing began at just 10 years old, fueled by his father’s passion for go-karts, which later transitioned into full-sized racing cars.
"I started driving go-karts around fifth grade because of my dad," Chou said. "I found racing fascinating as well, so I kept racing. Then I switched over to large cars and have been competing ever since."
His future aspiration is to become a professional driver. As his career continues to speed ahead, Chou promises to be a luminous symbol of promising young Taiwanese talent.
