Innovations in smart cities showcased at 2024 SCSE

TAIPEI (TVBS News) —The 2024 Smart City Summit and Expo (SCSE) is set to commence on March 19, welcoming an array of international city leaders, stakeholders, buyers, business partners, and exhibitors to delve into the opportunities presented by digital and green transformation across various smart city industries.

Speaking at a press conference on March 12 (Tuesday), business leaders and officials, including Jason Chen, Chairman of Taiwan Smart City Solutions Alliance., Lee Ssu-chuan, deputy mayor of Taipei, and Kao Shien-quey, deputy minister of the National Development Council (NDC), shared their expectations about the highly anticipated expo. 

 

They underscored the significance of governmental and entrepreneurial efforts to propel cities toward a more sustainable future. Albert Peng, President of TECO's Air and Intelligent Life Business Group emphasized the company's cutting-edge solutions in power plants, particularly its Virtual Power Plant (VPP) technology, aimed at optimizing power generation and distribution while promoting renewable energy adoption.

Also, Hsu Tai-wen, chair professor in the Department of River and Harbor Engineering at National Taiwan Ocean University, introduced innovative designs for offshore wind farm turbines, enhancing stability and efficiency through advanced anti-seismic systems and strategic placement.

Meanwhile, Kenny Yu, president of Acer iTS, highlighted the company's dedication to multi-payment solutions and smart transportation. Acer iTS aims to revolutionize payment methods for parking and charging services, offering users seamless experiences through their preferred electronic tickets and mobile payments. Yu emphasized Acer's vision for the evolving business landscape, stressing that “Companies without ESG principles have no future."
 

As the SCSE unfolds, these groundbreaking technologies and initiatives underscore the collective commitment toward a smarter, greener, and more sustainable urban future.
