TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan is set to participate in the 12th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Tourism Ministerial Meeting (TMM12) in Peru, with a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Transportation and Communications Lin Kuo-hsien and Tourism Administration Director-General Chou Yung-hui.

The meeting, scheduled for June 8 in Urubamba, Cusco Province, marks a significant step for Taiwan in the post-pandemic era as it seeks to reconnect with the international tourism market and address industry challenges alongside APEC economies.

Empowering Growth Through Inclusion
This year's APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting theme, "Empower. Include. Grow.," focuses on inclusive and interconnected growth through trade and investment, innovation and digitalization for economic transformation, and sustainable growth for resilient development. Peru, hosting APEC for the third time after 2008 and 2016, will host conferences in five cities, with the tourism ministers' meeting taking place in Urubamba.

Taiwan's Strategic Vision for Tourism
Lin emphasized the importance of leveraging the APEC meeting to promote Taiwan's tourism and exchange experiences with Peru's multifaceted tourism development strategies. Chou highlighted that this meeting is the Tourism Administration's first participation at the ministerial level since its upgrade, aiming to propel "Taiwan Tourism 2030."

Through international conferences and promotional activities, Taiwan is actively seeking to expand its global tourist market, demonstrating its commitment to overcoming challenges and seizing opportunities in the global tourism industry.
