TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (中央氣象署, CWA) announced on Friday (June 7) that various regions across Taiwan are expected to experience brief showers or thunderstorms, with a higher likelihood of heavy rainfall in the central, southern, and southeastern areas, as well as other regions in the afternoon. Additionally, visibility in Matsu (馬祖) and Kinmen (金門) could be affected by low clouds or fog later in the evening, prompting residents to stay updated on flight information.

Weather and Temperature Insights

Temperatures during the night and early morning are forecasted to range between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius across the island. Northern Taiwan is expected to see highs of around 27 to 28 degrees Celsius, while other areas might experience temperatures between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius. The CWA noted that the rain would bring comfortable conditions, but humidity could make it feel slightly muggy during dry spells.

Air Quality and Environmental Concerns

The Ministry of Environment (環境部) has indicated that due to the prevailing easterly to southeasterly winds on Friday, areas north of Yunlin and Chiayi are likely to see a slight accumulation of pollutants, resulting in a general air quality index. However, the air quality in Yilan and Hualien-Taitung is rated as "good," while the northern and central regions, along with Matsu, Kinmen, and Penghu (澎湖), are considered to have "moderate" air quality levels.

Residents and travelers are advised to monitor weather and air quality updates closely, especially those planning to visit or transit through the affected areas of Matsu and Kinmen.
