TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Minister of Economic Affairs J.W. Kuo (郭智輝) assured on Wednesday (June 12) that Taiwan's power supply is sufficient to support the burgeoning AI industry.

Amid global surges in AI applications and interest from both local and international investors in Taiwan's complete supply chain, concerns have been raised about the island's ability to meet the industry's electricity demands.

Powering AI's Future
Kuo addressed these concerns ahead of his report to the Legislative Yuan Economics Committee (立法院經濟委員會), emphasizing the government's commitment to fostering AI development.

"After precise calculations, the results show that our prepared capacity should be sufficient," Kuo stated, dispelling doubts about Taiwan's power supply capabilities.

Strategic Moves for AI Development
During his presentation, Kuo discussed strategies for deepening Taiwan's AI ecosystem, enriching AI talent, and promoting the digital transformation of industries through AI empowerment.

His reassurances come at a critical time when the global community keenly watches Taiwan's ability to maintain its competitive edge in the AI sector. With a robust power supply and strategic initiatives, Taiwan is poised to remain at the forefront of AI innovation and development.
