TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A new survey by Yes123 Job Bank (Yes123求職網) forecasts that artificial intelligence (AI) will eliminate 29.2% of job opportunities within the next decade. The "Year of the Dragon Third Quarter Economic and Labor Market Trend Survey," released on Tuesday (June 25), indicates that AI is spurring significant industrial innovation. Nearly half of the companies surveyed (49.8%) are now looking to integrate automation or AI into their operations, marking a notable increase from last year’s 42%.

Companies planning new AI departments or ventures estimate that starting salaries for AI-skilled employees will be at least 31.6% higher than for other roles. Additionally, 17.8% of companies are prepared to offer a premium of 50% or more for these skills. Despite this, 89.6% of workers express concerns about AI or robots replacing their jobs before retirement, an increase from last year's 87.2%. Jobs at risk include ticket sellers, customer service representatives, and clerks in various sectors.

According to Yes123 Job Bank spokesperson Yang Tsung-pin (楊宗斌), the future will likely see a shift towards "human-machine collaboration," where AI and humans work together more closely. Yang also warns that Generation Z needs to grasp this concept and learn to utilize AI tools effectively to avoid being outpaced by more skilled professionals. The survey, conducted from June 7 to June 20, polled 1,288 full-time employees and 1,016 companies, boasting a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of ±2.73% and ±3.07%, respectively.
