TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) pledged on Sunday (Sep. 1) to vigorously promote Yunlin's high-quality agricultural products to people across Taiwan. Chiang made this commitment during a dinner event organized by a Yunlin-based association (雲林鄉親同心會) held in Taipei. New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-ih (侯友宜) also attended the event to show support.

Chiang reflected on his mayoral campaign, noting that he had participated in the association's activities when running for mayor and received much care and support from many elders.

Hou emphasized New Taipei's diverse community and promised continued support for Yunlin residents. He stated that many ethnic groups blend in New Taipei, including Yunlin compatriots. In the future, he will continue to work together for New Taipei.

The event had a lively atmosphere, with nearly 20 tables of attendees, including Yunlin Magistrate Chang Li-shan (張麗善), former Yunlin Magistrate Chang Jung-wei (張榮味), Kuomintang (KMT, 中國國民黨) Legislator Hsu Chen (許宇甄), and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP, 民主進步黨) Legislator Wu Chi-ming (吳琪銘).

Meanwhile, Taiwan People's Party (TPP, 台灣民眾黨) Chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) was detained and restricted in communication by the Taipei District Prosecutors Office (臺北地方檢察署) over the Core Pacific City case (京華城案). Chiang did not comment on this matter.
