TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Dutch conductor Jaap van Zweden, a celebrated figure in the classical music world, will collaborate with the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra (ESO, 長榮交響樂團) for the first time in November.

The performances will take place at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts, commonly known as Weiwuying (衛武營), on Nov. 22 and at the National Concert Hall (國家音樂廳) in Taipei on Nov. 25.

Van Zweden, who has dedicated over 40 years to the music scene, has led prestigious orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Paris Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, and London Symphony Orchestra. He currently serves as the music director of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, honorary conductor of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, and music director designate of the French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.

Additionally, the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra has invited Sayaka Shoji (庄司紗矢香), a prominent Japanese violinist and gold medalist of the Paganini Competition, to perform the violin concerto. Her participation promises to add a remarkable dimension to the event.

The concerts, titled "ESO x Jaap van Zweden x Sayaka Shoji," will feature a compelling program. The repertoire includes Beethoven's "Symphony No. 7," Mozart's lighthearted "Overture to The Marriage of Figaro," and Beethoven's "Violin Concerto in D Major."
