TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Morris Chang (張忠謀), founder of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC, 台積電), announced Thursday (Oct. 4) that he will attend TSMC's sports day on Oct. 26. Chang expressed his enthusiasm, stating it is his happiest event each year.

Chang delivered remarks at the Fubon Group's (富邦集團) 5th Taiwan Contribution Award (蔡萬才台灣貢獻獎) ceremony, emphasizing the award's goal of encouraging positive forces contributing to society. He highlighted the importance of expanding the influence of award winners and providing role models for society.

Chang noted that nominees come from diverse fields, each contributing uniquely to Taiwanese society. However, he slightly regretted the lack of nominees in finance, management, science, biotechnology, politics, and education. He hopes future nominations will include more candidates from these categories.

Chang also revealed plans to publish the second volume of his autobiography by late November. The book will cover his career from 1964 at Texas Instruments to his retirement from TSMC in 2018.
