TAIPEI (TVBS News) — National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU, 國立台灣師範大學) student ambassadors announced on Friday (Oct. 4) their return to the National Day ceremony on Oct. 10, marking their first appearance in five years.

The student group will serve as reception staff for the president, vice president, and international dignitaries. The university announced this comeback amid challenges like reduced team numbers and a lack of experience transfer post-pandemic.

Despite these challenges, the team has engaged in rigorous training. They have practiced various scenarios, such as guiding visually impaired guests, evacuating in case of explosives, and providing first aid for fainting incidents.

NTNU stated that the ambassadors boast proficiency in multiple languages, including Mandarin, English, Taiwanese, sign language, Spanish, Japanese, and Malay. They regularly conduct Mandarin and English scenario drills and have recently focused on introducing themselves and greeting guests in other languages.

Their uniforms also reflect their roles and the university's spirit. Female ambassadors will wear pink and white outfits, symbolizing liveliness and confidence, with skirt bells echoing the university's emblem. Male ambassadors will don iron-gray suits, exuding stability, with NTNU embroidered on ties and pins, representing the university's ethos.
