TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA, 數位發展部) announced on Monday (Oct. 7) that the full version of the Internet Fraud Reporting and Inquiry Network (網路詐騙通報查詢網) will launch in December.

During a session with the Legislative Yuan's Transportation Committee (交通委員會), Minister Huang Yennun (黃彥男) addressed the delay in its rollout, initially promised for August, as criticized by KMT Legislator Huang Chien-hao (黃健豪).

Huang Yennun revealed that approximately 2,000 users have downloaded the app, which is currently in the testing phase to gather feedback. He emphasized that investment fraud cases remain the most severe, alongside payment scams with fake bills and romance scams.

Meanwhile, the app's development and ongoing operations have cost about NT$13 million, according to Lin Chun-hsiu (林俊秀), deputy director general of the Administration for Digital Industries (ADI, 數位產業署).

The committee also discussed the app's need for higher search visibility on Google. Ministry officials plan to optimize its search ranking.

KMT Legislator Liao Hsiang (廖先翔) raised concerns about the app's development costs and ability to handle holiday reports. The minister assured that they coordinate efforts to manage reports on weekends and holidays.

MODA allocated NT$58,063,000 for the network next year, reflecting its commitment to enhancing online fraud prevention.
