TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND, 國防部) on Friday (Oct. 11) detecteced 20 People's Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft and 10 People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) vessels operating around Taiwan over the past 24 hours.

The MND stated that 13 of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's Northern and southwestern ADIZ up until 6 a.m. on Friday. The ministry emphasized that the military closely monitored the situation using CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and coastal missile systems.

On Thursday night, China launched a carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center (西昌衛星發射中心) at approximately 9:50 p.m. The rocket's trajectory passed over central Taiwan, heading toward West Pacific. The ministry confirmed the rocket posed no threat to Taiwan, as it traveled outside the atmosphere

Earlier that day President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) delivered his first National Day address, highlighting the separation of Taiwan and China, emphasizing that "The People's Republic of China has no right to represent Taiwan." The Chinese rocket launch sparked further speculation about the rising tensions in the Taiwan Strait.
