TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Chou Tien-chen (周天成), Taiwan's top badminton player, clinched the championship at the Arctic Open in Finland on Sunday (Oct. 13), defeating Indonesia's Jonatan Christie in straight sets, 21-18, 21-17. This victory marks Chou's second individual title this year, showcasing his strong form in the BWF World Tour Super 500 event.

Ranked 10th globally, Chou faced Christie, ranked 5th, with a pre-match head-to-head record of 7-9. In the first game, Chou broke a 17-17 tie with a 4-1 run to secure the win. Despite trailing 6-1 in the second game, Chou leveled the score at 6-6 with aggressive smashes and ultimately won 21-17.

Controversy arose during the match when Chou's 19th point resulted from a net fault called against Christie. Christie expressed dissatisfaction with the decision. The Arctic Open, a BWF Super 500 event, highlighted Chou's exceptional performance and affirmed his continued competitiveness.
