TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The head of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC, 國科會) on Monday (Oct. 14) highlighted the critical role of government, science parks, and academia in Taiwan's semiconductor success. NSTC Minister Wu Cheng-wen (吳誠文), emphasized this collaboration as a driving force behind the industry's development during a Facebook post reflecting on his recent interview with Bloomberg.

Wu noted Bloomberg's keen interest in the science parks' contribution to Taiwan's semiconductor manufacturing triumph. The outlet inquired whether Taiwan plans to share its science park model internationally. Wu underscored the critical role of government efforts in science parks, collaboration with academia, and strategic technology policies in the semiconductor industry's achievements.

Also, Wu discussed TSMC's (台積電) continued success during the interview. He pointed out that despite limited resources, Taiwan expands globally and assists other countries in establishing their semiconductor industries.
