TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Former President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) arrived in Paris on Tuesday (Oct. 15), expressing on Facebook her intent to meet with French friends and promote Taiwan's commitment to democracy, freedom, and human rights. Tsai's visit aims to strengthen ties with France and highlight Taiwan's values on an international stage.

During the Forum 2000 annual conference in the Czech Republic on Monday, Tsai urged democratic nations to unite against the rising threat of authoritarian regimes. She emphasized the importance of global solidarity in protecting democratic ideals. Tsai's speech underscored the need for cooperation among like-minded countries.

After concluding her visit to the Czech Republic, Tsai shared her experiences of enjoying European landscapes and reconnecting with old and new friends.

She extended an invitation to her European counterparts to visit Taiwan and experience its culture and cuisine. Tsai's outreach reflects her ongoing efforts to build international relationships and showcase Taiwan's unique offerings.

Tsai also posted a photo in front of the Louvre, indicating her plans to visit the iconic museum and deepen partnerships with France. Her European tour signifies a strategic move to bolster Taiwan's diplomatic presence and foster alliances in the region, her office said.
