TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese singer Jay Chou (周杰倫) will perform in Taiwan this December. His public relations company confirmed receiving over 150 applications to work at the concert venue in a single day, attributing the surge to Chou's immense popularity.

Tickets for his four-day "Carnival" world tour at Taipei Dome (大巨蛋) went on sale on Oct. 23. They were sold out in five minutes, with 890,000 people vying for 150,000 tickets. Scheduled to begin Dec. 5, Chou's return after a seven-year hiatus sparked a frenzy among fans eager to attend his concerts.

Some fans, unable to secure tickets, turned to job listings at Taipei Dome, hoping to hear Chou's music for free. The positions include cleaning staff, service desk personnel, and security.

Fans also launched creative campaigns, such as "Crawl into Taipei Dome's sewer to listen to the concert" and "The sewer is full, switch to the ventilation pipes to hear Jay Chou," garnering participation from over 10,000 people.

Chou's public relations firm acknowledged the phenomenon as an amusing form of exposure but emphasized a stringent and cautious selection process for hiring.
