TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) praised American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Director Raymond Greene (谷立言) on Monday (Oct. 28) for his recent interview, stating, "He speaks very well."
Greene's interview with Mindi World News (敏迪選讀) marks his first appearance on YouTube and podcast platforms since assuming his position.
Greene expressed his willingness to dispel doubts about U.S. support for Taiwan, emphasizing the steadfastness of the U.S. defense commitment. He assured that the U.S. would continue to assist Taiwan in strengthening its international connections, affirming the U.S. as a reliable partner.
Greene highlighted that whether Kamala Harris or Donald Trump wins the upcoming election, the fundamental U.S. foreign policy will remain unchanged, with Taiwan-U.S. relations enjoying bipartisan support.
However, Greene found it surprising that discussions about doubts regarding the U.S. increased compared to his previous tenure as AIT deputy director.
