TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) vowed on Monday (Nov. 18) to uphold his administration's commitment to addressing and resolving problems of the Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋), promising penalties if improvements weren't made by the Farglory Group (遠雄) within the deadline.

Taipei Dome marked one year today since its opening, but persistent leaks have cast a shadow on the anniversary. Experts attributed the issues to the four-year construction halt during former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je's (柯文哲) term.

Mayor Chiang highlighted his administration's achievements during his first year in office. He noted the successful completion of the Taipei Dome's launch despite widespread skepticism, citing the hosting of the Asian Baseball Championship at the end of 2023 and this year's World Baseball Classic as significant milestones.

Meanwhile, Taiwan People's Party (TPP, 民眾黨) Taipei City Councilor Chen You-cheng (陳宥丞) questioned the motives behind reports linking the leaks to the previous administration's construction pause. He accused Farglory Group of deliberately leaking information to deflect blame onto the previous and current city governments.
