TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A crowd gathered in front of the Xinzhuang Joint Office Tower (行政院新莊聯合辦公大樓) on Sunday (Nov. 24) to mourn a civil servant from the Ministry of Labor's Workforce Development Agency, who had died by suicide following workplace bullying allegations.

The incident has drawn significant public attention after accusations against the agency's northern branch Director Hsieh Yi-jung (謝宜容) surfaced. The social movement group "White Iron Alliance" (白鐵聯盟) organized the memorial, encouraging the public to join in a silent vigil featuring candlelit stands and origami cranes.

A woman in her 60s, surnamed Wang, initiated the event, motivated by personal experiences of her children facing bullying and the deceased civil servant's age similarity to her son. Lin, who participated in organizing the event, explained that the White Iron Alliance aims to voice support for those treated unjustly. Many Sunday attendees were strangers who spontaneously responded to the call.

The gathering underscores a growing societal demand for addressing workplace bullying issues and supporting affected individuals.
