TAIPEI (TVBS News) — EVA Air (長榮航空) announced Monday (Nov. 25) plans to launch a new route to Dallas, Texas, starting Nov. 3, 2025, with five weekly flights. EVA Air President Sun Chia-ming (孫嘉明) highlighted Dallas airport's ranking as the third busiest worldwide and noted the influx of Silicon Valley tech firms, boosting business activity in the region.

Sun revealed strategies to meet growing passenger demand next year, including increased flights to Japan, including cities Hakodate, Aomori, and Matsuyama, and a new route to Kobe. EVA Air reported a surge in post-pandemic passenger demand in the Asia-Pacific, with a 20.4% annual increase in Northeast Asia, significantly surpassing the global average.

The airline experienced an 8.4% rise in passenger revenue and nearly 20% growth in passenger numbers from January to October, with a 9.7% increase in capacity. Despite a drop in fares for Hong Kong and Macau, EVA Air stated that ticket prices remain high due to inflation and limited service chain capacity, suggesting a permanent increase.

In cargo operations, EVA Air noted that November rates nearly returned to pandemic highs, driven by AI and e-commerce growth. The airline plans to expand its fleet to 84 aircraft by the end of this year and introduce six Boeing 787 wide-body jets in the first quarter of next year, reaching 90 aircraft.

EVA Air's strategic expansion and fleet growth align with the robust demand in passenger and cargo sectors, positioning the airline for continued success in a competitive market.
