TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taipei City Government's Department of Cultural Affairs (北市府文化局) reported on Monday (Dec. 9) that they received over 3,600 complaints regarding scalpers at singer Jay Chou's (周杰倫) concert. The department continues to verify identities and collaborates with the police to combat this issue for future events.

Jay Chou's "Carnival" (嘉年華) concert at the Taipei Dome (大巨蛋) concluded successfully on Sunday. The lack of a real-name registration system allowed scalping incidents to proliferate. As pop diva A-Mei (張惠妹) prepares for her upcoming concert, authorities remain vigilant.

The department noted that it processed the complaints through the Ministry of Culture's (文化部) scalper reporting section. Due to the high volume of complaints, each case undergoes verification and opinion statements per the Development of the "Cultural and Creative Industries Act" (文創法) and "Administrative Procedure Act" (行政程序法).

Officials emphasized that ticket-seeking behavior outside the venue falls under individual conduct and should adhere to venue order regulations. They urged the public not to engage in or support scalping activities, highlighting plans to raise awareness at A-Mei's concert and maintain collaboration with the police to address the problem.
