Taiwan ranks in top 20 for U.S. tourist arrivals

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The head of the U.S. Travel Association (美國旅遊推展協會) on Tuesday (Dec. 17) announced that Taiwan is back among the top 20 countries sending tourists to the U.S. from January to August, with 42,000 Taiwanese visitors in August. President Tang Ching-i (唐靜儀), noted that Taiwanese travel to the U.S. has rebounded to 94% of pre-COVID-19 levels.
Airlines have responded to this demand by expanding their routes. This year, several carriers launched flights to Seattle, with China Airlines (中華航空) initiating charter flights to Guam. United Airlines (聯合航空) plans to start twice-weekly direct flights from Taipei to Guam on April 2, 2025, and will offer daily flights from Kaohsiung to Narita beginning in July 2025, connecting travelers to major U.S. destinations.
EVA Air (長榮航空) will introduce a five-times-weekly service from Taipei to Dallas beginning Nov. 3, 2025, which is expected to further boost the number of Taiwanese visitors to the U.S. Tang believes that the recovery of airlines and the opening of new routes will help Taiwanese travel to the U.S. reach record highs next year.
