TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central News Agency (CNA, 中央社) reported on Monday (Jan. 13) that Zhou Qingsong (周青松), vice minister of the Organization Department of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee (福建省委組織部), revealed the establishment of separate Taiwan Affairs Offices in counties and districts heavily involved in Taiwan tasks.
Zhou's article, published last Wednesday (Jan. 8) on the Central Institutional Organization Commission's (中國機構編制) WeChat account, emphasized Fujian's role as a key coastal province in China's reform and opening-up efforts. He stated that the province plans to enhance its Taiwan work system.
Zhou also mentioned that future steps will involve integrating institutional reform evaluations with the reform of public institutions to guide cities and counties in strengthening their Taiwan-related work structures. Fujian aims to further develop platforms for integrated growth and guide the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone (平潭綜合實驗區), Quanzhou Taiwanese Investment Zone (泉州台商投資區), and Zhangzhou Taiwanese Investment Zone (漳州台商投資區) in improving their management systems and operational mechanisms.
The article also highlighted Fujian's commitment to facilitating education and employment opportunities for Taiwanese in the province, offering streamlined support for vocational schools recruiting Taiwanese teachers and public schools enrolling Taiwanese students. These initiatives reflect Fujian's strategic focus on enhancing cross-strait relations and integration.
