TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Jensen Huang (黃仁勳), CEO of NVIDIA (輝達), will likely to arrive in Taiwan as early as Tuesday (Jan. 14) to meet with key suppliers, including Foxconn (鴻海), Quanta (廣達), ASUS (華碩), MSI (微星), and Gigabyte (技嘉) ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. This visit precedes NVIDIA's annual year-end banquet on Friday.
Foxconn, the world's largest AI server supplier, will host Huang for a meeting with its Chairman Young Liu (劉揚偉). Although the agenda remains confidential, industry insiders expect discussions to focus on the mass production of the GB200 and the introduction of the GB300 later this year. Huang's visit comes after the U.S. announced a three-tier control on AI chip exports, with Taiwan unaffected due to its crucial supply chain position.
Last week, NVIDIA unveiled its latest RTX50 series graphics cards at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, impressing the market. Huang plans to meet with board partners such as ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte to discuss distribution and sales strategies for the new graphics cards. He previously stated that the autonomous vehicle market "will likely be the first multitrillion-dollar robotics industry," and emphasized the potential of highly automated driving.
NVIDIA's collaboration with Taiwanese manufacturers may soon extend beyond AI servers to include autonomous vehicle technology, tapping into a multitrillion-dollar industry. If Huang appears publicly this week, the progress of NVIDIA's Taiwan headquarters site selection will likely draw attention, and he mentioned an announcement will likely be made in this year's COMPUTEX in June.
