TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL, 中華職棒) aims to secure more game slots at the Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋) for the upcoming season, CPBL President announced on Tuesday (Jan. 14). The league has renewed discussions with the Farglory Group (遠雄) to address the teams' needs as the new season approaches on March 29.
The Taipei Dome is set to host at least 35 games, but CPBL President Tsai Chi-chang (蔡其昌) believes this number falls short of meeting team demands. During a press conference, he revealed that Farglory had shown goodwill by agreeing to reassess the scheduling arrangements. Tsai emphasized the importance of finalizing these details before the Lunar New Year.
The CPBL seeks to distribute games evenly among teams, particularly those with fewer slots. Tsai also wanted to confirm game slots for the 2026 season in advance, aiming to meet a minimum requirement of 41 games at the Taipei Dome.
