TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The NBA announced on Tuesday (Feb. 4) that Jeremy Lin (林書豪) will coach the G League team in the Rising Stars Challenge. This year, the NBA All-Star Game will feature a new format, with the winning team from the Rising Stars Challenge competing in the event.

This announcement marks Lin's return to the NBA All-Star weekend after a 13-year hiatus since his participation in the 2012 Rising Stars Challenge. The event will take place on Feb. 15. Currently playing for the New Taipei Kings (新北國王) in Taiwan's Professional Basketball League (TPBL, 台灣職業籃球大聯盟), Lin has had an impressive NBA career.

Lin's G League Team will be one of four participating in the Rising Stars Challenge, with the other three teams being selected through a draft process. Despite going undrafted after graduating from Harvard, Lin carved out a successful nine-season career in the NBA, starting with the Golden State Warriors in the 2010-2011 season.

The other three teams in the Rising Stars Challenge will be led by Hall of Famers Tim Hardaway with Team T, Mitch Richmond with Team M, and Chris Mullin with Team C. The winning team from this challenge will be led by WNBA legend Candace Parker in the NBA All-Star Game. This exciting new game arrangment promises to showcase emerging talent and legendary leadership, offering fans an engaging experience.
