TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A private jet transported the ashes of late actress Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛) from Tokyo International Airport to Taipei Songshan Airport (台北松山機場) on Wednesday (Feb. 5) afternoon, according to the Liberty Times (自由時報).
Rumors suggest the ashes may be placed at Barbie Hsu's home, with a possible memorial set up at the Lung Yen Taipei Ming Chuan Hall (龍巖台北民權會館). Despit media reports, Lung Yen said they are not handling the arrangements.
Barbie Hsu passed away at 48 due to pneumonia complications from a flu in Japan last Sunday. Her sister, Dee Hsu (徐熙娣), confirmed the news and expressed gratitude for the public's support a day later, stating that she will always remember her.
Barbie Hsu rose to fame in 1994 with her sister as part of the duo S.O.S, captivating audiences with their humorous and sharp style on popular shows like "Guess Guess Guess" (我猜我猜我猜猜猜) and "100% Entertainment" (娛樂百分百). Her role in the 2001 hit drama "Meteor Garden" (流星花園) catapulted her to stardom across Asia, earning her a Golden Bell Award (金鐘獎) nomination and recognition in countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.
