TAIPEI (TVBS News) — National Cheng Kung University (NCKU, 成功大學) secured the top spot for the seventh time in a decade in a 2025 survey of universities most favored by businesses, while National University of Kaohsiung (NUK, 高雄大學) climbed 24 places to rank 29th.
The survey from Cheers magazine (職場雜誌), released on Thursday (Feb. 6), found the growing importance of learning potential over academic credentials in the AI era. In a rapidly changing job market, flexibility and collaboration are key to success, the survey suggested.
The AI era has shifted hiring priorities, emphasizing personality traits, learning potential, academic background, professional skills, and degree level. Businesses now value adaptability, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and self-learning.
For the past decade, the top 10 universities have remained consistent, albeit with slight changes in order. This year, the list includes NCKU, National Taiwan University (NTU, 台灣大學), National Tsing Hua University (NTHU, 清華大學), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU, 陽明交通大學), National Chengchi University (NCCU, 政治大學), National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT, 台北科技大學), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST, 台灣科技大學), National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU, 中山大學), National Central University (NCU, 中央大學), and Tamkang University (TKU, 淡江大學).
