TAIPEI (TVBS News) — After securing second place at the 2025 Singapore Smash, Taiwan's table tennis duo Lin Yun-ju (林昀儒) and Kao Cheng-jui (高承睿) climbed to the 11th spot in the world rankings, according to the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) on Tuesday.

Lin and Kao, competing together for the first time, set a new record for Taiwan's men's doubles at the Grand Slam despite falling 0-3 to China's Wang Chuqin (王楚欽) and Lin Shidong (林詩棟) in the finals. Lin, 23, and Kao, 20, have sparked high expectations for their future performances.

Lin dropped two spots to 14th in men's singles, while Kao reached a career-high 21st after advancing to the round of 16 at the Grand Slam. Taiwan's Feng Yi-Hsin (馮翊新) and Huang Yan-cheng (黃彥誠) are ranked 54th and 63rd, respectively. Chang Yu-an (張佑安), who won the Singapore Youth Smash 2025, achieved a personal best of 72nd this year.

In women's singles, Cheng I-ching (鄭怡靜) slipped one spot to 12th. Meanwhile, table tennis veteran Huang Yi-hua (黃怡樺), 40, rose to 30th, while Chien Tung-chuan (簡彤娟) remained at 47th. Taiwan's women's doubles pair, Cheng I-ching and Li Yu-jhun (李昱諄), maintained their position as the world's third-ranked duo.
