NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — As the New Taipei Lantern Festival (新北燈會) nears its end on Sunday (Feb. 16), the bright attractions have drawn over 2.5 million visitors.
The festival's highlight features a 12-meter-tall snake whose eyes rotate, bidding tourists to get a closer look. In addition, its main lantern show combines light sculptures and musical performances every 30 minutes from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Festival-goers eagerly collected two versions of snake-themed lanterns, which were produced in a total of 158,800 units. These lanterns are a highlight for those who wish to brighten up their social media feeds.
The festival also collaborated with LINE FRIENDS for the first time, creating a 4-meter-tall claw machine that has drawn significant attention and a themed store that keeps visitors engaged.
