TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Bureau of Labor Funds (BLF, 勞動基金運用局), announced on Tuesday (Feb. 18) an open call for foreign investment trustees for the new Labor Pension Fund's "Global Climate Transition Passive Equity" (全球氣候轉型被動股票型) mandate, focusing on climate transition to encourage businesses to prioritize and implement sustainable development.
The statement, released by the BLF, suggested that the project aims to allocate a total of $1.6 billion which plans to select four trustees, each managing $400 million, ensuring a balanced industry allocation.
Aiming to achieve international stock market returns at relatively low costs, the bureau intends to use a passive mandate approach to diversify investment risks. The MSCI World Climate Action Index will serve as the benchmark, concentrating on companies' leading performance in climate transition.
The MSCI World Climate Action index focuses on measuring companies' leading performance in climate transition, filtering the top 50% of companies in each industry to extend diverse transition investment opportunities.
