TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Tourism Administration (觀光署) announced Friday (Feb. 21) that the Taiwan Lantern Festival (台灣燈會) will end Sunday with fantastic performances, including Melody Award (金曲獎) winners, the band Mixer (麋先生). The event began last Wednesday in Taoyuan (桃園) and has drawn large crowds. The closing program promises a 4.5-hour spectacle.

The Tourism Administration stated that the closing ceremony will feature two segments. From 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., attendees can enjoy performances by the Ju Percussion Group (朱宗慶打擊樂團), Eye Catching Circus (創造焦點馬戲團), and campus folk singers Helen Wang (王海玲), A-vai (曾淑勤), and Li Ming-te (李明德).

The second segment, running from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., will showcase the Ming Hwa Yuan Arts & Cultural Group (明華園戲劇總團), a Spanish flamenco dance troupe, singer Henry Hsu (許富凱), the Longtan Philharmonic Orchestra (龍潭愛樂管弦樂團), and Mixer.

The Tourism Administration emphasized that the program aims to resonate with diverse audiences, including younger, middle-aged, and senior viewers. They advised attendees to arrive early to secure viewing spots, as the main lantern show will start at 5 p.m. and conclude with the final performance at 9:55 p.m. As the festival draws close, the administration hopes the diverse lineup will leave a lasting impression on all who attend.
