TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Aerospace Industrial Development Corp (AIDC, 漢翔航空工業) showcased its cutting-edge counter-drone system, boasting five integrated operational features like radar and camera lenses, media reported on Friday (Feb. 21). Taiwan demonstrated its technological prowess at the inaugural Xponential Europe, which took place from Tuesday to Thursday in Germany, with dozens of companies participating, including AIDC, Thunder Tiger (雷虎科技), and Chin-Poon Industrial (敬鵬工業).

AIDC Vice President Chuang Hsiu-mei (莊秀美) stated that the counter-drone system aims to enhance security by controlling suspicious drone signals within detection ranges and deploying jammers to incapacitate drones when necessary. The system will launch in June following the National Communications Commission (NCC, 國家通訊傳播委員會) verification.

Thunder Tiger highlighted its diverse land, sea, and air vehicles at the event. Chang Feng-ning (張峰寧), the company's chief strategy officer, stated that Thunder Tiger customizes military applications to meet client needs. The company operates a fully automated production line in Taiwan, which, despite higher costs, attracts significant interest, especially amid a supply chain trend toward diversification.

Chang emphasized the added value of Taiwan-made products in the current market environment. As Taiwan continues to innovate and adapt to global demands, these developments underscore the country's growing influence in the defense and technology sectors. With the upcoming launch of the counter-drone system, Taiwan aims to strengthen its strategic partnerships and security capabilities.
