TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Catholic Archdiocese of Taipei (天主教台北總教區) announced on Wednesday (Feb. 26) plans to hold a Mass on Saturday to pray for Pope Francis' swift recovery.
The Pope, who has been hospitalized since Feb. 14 due to bronchitis, has seen his condition worsen to bilateral pneumonia, drawing global attention to his health.
The Vatican has been conducting blessing ceremonies at St. Peter's Basilica, while Catholic groups in Taiwan have joined in prayers for the Pope's health. The Taipei Archdiocese will hold the Mass at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral (聖母無原罪主教座堂), led by Most Rev. Thomas Chung An-zu (總主教鍾安住).
Starting Thursday, the Archdiocese will also host daily rosary prayers at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception until next Thursday. These prayers support Pope Francis' recovery and unite the faithful in a shared spiritual effort.
