TAIPEI (TVBS News) — U.S. stock markets closed with mixed results on Wednesday (Feb. 26), as the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 188.04 points or 0.43%, settling at 43,433.12. KGI Investment Advisory suggested that AI Benchmark Stocks will affected the trend of Taiwan Stock Exchange.

Taiwan Stock Exchange opened low but close higher on Wednesday, with the index rising 116.83 points to 23,402.55. NVIDIA (輝達) released its fourth-quarter earnings report early Thursday morning, exceeding Wall Street expectations and influencing the performance of electronic concept stocks in Taiwan.

 

KGI Securities noted that ahead of NVIDIA's earnings, AI server concept stocks such as Quanta Computer (廣達), Foxconn (鴻海), and Wiwynn (緯穎), along with thermal concept stocks Auras Technology Co.,Ltd (雙鴻) and Asia Vital Components Company (奇鋐), saw significant buying interest. Despite this, institutional investors sold a combined NT$9.882 billion on Wednesday, with foreign and Chinese investors leading the sell-off at NT$3.791 billion.

According to the Taiwan Stock Exchange, foreign investors sold the most shares of Walsin (華新), totaling 18,535 units, marking the highest in over a year. Other top foreign sell-offs included Nanya Technology (南亞科), Yuanta//P-shares Taiwan Top 50 (元大台灣50), Unimicron Technolofy Corp.(欣興), Winbond Electronics Corporation (華邦電), Taishin Financial Holdings (台新金), TA CHEN STAINLESS PIPE CO., LTD. (大成鋼), Yuanta CSI 300 2X (元大滬深300正2), Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC, 台積電), and Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation (台化).


Meanwhile, the S&P 500 remained nearly flat at 5,956.06, while the Nasdaq Composite surged 260.54 points or 1.35%, reaching 19,026.39. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index also rose 101.94 points or 2.09%, closing at 4,990.82. TSMC ADRs Also, climbed 2.77%.
