TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Heterogeneously Integrated Silicon Photonics Alliance (HiSPA, 國際矽光子異質整合聯盟) and the Netherlands’ PhotonDelta signed a memorandum of understanding on Feb. 24 at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST, 國立臺灣科技大學), marking a pivotal step in advancing global technological innovation.

During the meeting, the Netherlands introduced its photonic technology ecosystem and explored next-generation Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) technology trends, while HiSPA shared its latest developments and future cooperation areas.

PhotonDelta CEO Eelko Brinkhoff emphasized the strategic partnership's potential to foster market trend exchanges in the fields of silicon photonics, indium phosphide, silicon nitride, and aluminum oxide.
Brinkhoff stated that establishing a strategic partnership with HiSPA will promote market trends exchange in PIC technology.

HiSPA Chairman Lee San-liang (李三良) noted that the Netherlands leads globally in semiconductor equipment and technology, while Taiwan has room for improvement in silicon photonics design and application. He added that this collaboration will promote technical exchange.

Both parties plan to strengthen the silicon photonics technology ecosystem through joint research and development projects, technology transfer, and talent training. These efforts aim to accelerate the market promotion of related products.

The Netherlands Office Taipei facilitated this strategic partnership, which aims to enhance technological exchange and market trends in PIC technology. The signing ceremony were attended by numerous industry and academic representatives.
