TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA, 外交部) announced on Tuesday (March 4) that Taiwan citizens will soon gain direct access to the Czech labor market, starting from the first quarter of 2025. In a routine press conference, MOFA spokesman Hsiao Kuang-wei (蕭光偉) stated that Taiwanese individuals with qualifying Czech visas or residency documents can work without a separate work permit.
Hsiao revealed that the Czech government expanded its list of non-EU countries with free access to its labor market on Feb. 19, officially including Taiwan. This decision simplifies the employment process for Taiwanese in the Czech Republic, eliminating the need for a work permit and easing their entry into the workforce.
Hsiao explained that once the Czech government completes the necessary preparations, Taiwanese citizens will have the right to enter the Czech labor market upon obtaining the appropriate visa or residency documents. The MOFA appreciated the Czech government's move, highlighting the potential for increased interactions and talent exchange between the two sides.
